EcomKhaleej is a shopping guide website operated by New Essential Services, Muscat, Oman. This page explains what information is handled when you visit the site and how you can contact us about it.
Information we collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, our web server automatically records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time of each visit. We use this only in aggregate to understand which pages are read, keep the site secure and fix problems.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
We do not ask you to create an account, and the site has no sign-up, order or payment forms.
Affiliate links and third-party tracking
Some links on EcomKhaleej may be affiliate links. When you click one, you leave our site and go to a third-party retailer, sometimes via an affiliate network. That network or retailer may record the click and use cookies or similar technology to attribute a purchase to EcomKhaleej. That data is collected and handled by those third parties under their own privacy policies, not by us. We do not receive your name, payment details or order contents.
Product reviews
If you rate a product, we store the stars, the name you enter, your comment and the date, so we can check reviews before they appear. To limit spam we also keep a one-way code made from your connection and browser details; it cannot be turned back into your IP address. We do not ask for your email or phone number. To have a review removed, contact us.
Reminder stored in your browser
When you click a store button, your own browser remembers that product for up to 60 days (using local storage, not a cookie) so it can ask you later whether you would like to rate it. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. Tapping "Not now", or clearing your browser data, removes it.
Cookies
EcomKhaleej does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Third-party services may set cookies when you follow an affiliate link, as described above. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept only for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by our hosting and network providers solely to run the website.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete emails you have sent, by contacting us at the address below.
